Niceville is a great community! Located in Okaloosa County Florida close to Eglin Air Force Base on Boggy Bayou that opens onto Choctawhatchee Bay has a population of approximately 15,000. Home to the USAF Armament Museum, you can take a journey through the history of warfare armament from World War I to the present day high tech planes and bombs.
Rocky Bayou State Park is a great place to launch your boat or just hike the trails and enjoy the natural beauty of the area. Niceville also has a 3 acre dog park with separate enclosures for off leash activity and small dogs play area. Turkey Creek is a great place to enjoy nature with several jumping off points to "jump in" on a hot day! Visitors are encouraged to walk, hike or tube in the park.
Everyone here is so nice and supportive of the schools in the area. Friday night football games at the High School are exciting and the stands are generally full. You'll find that those that don't have kids in school still attend the ball games and support their teams for all sports.
